All classes have a regular scheduled computer class time each week during their specialty time. We work on reading skills using SuccessMaker. STUDENTS ALSO WORK ON MATH SKILLS USING MATH FACTS IN A FLASH, OR MATH ESSENTIALS.
ALL 4TH AND 5TH GRADE MATH CLASSES HAVE A SCHEDULED CLASS TIME EACH WEEK TO WORK ON MATH SKILLS USING THE SUCCESSMAKER PROGRAM. 5TH GRADE SCIENCE CLASSES ALL WORK ON SCIENCE SKILLS DURING A FRIDAY SCHEDULED SUCCESSMAKER TIME EACH WEEK.
SuccessMaker is an innovative, balanced educational program that incorporates curriculum, management and assessment into a powerful results-driven learning system. SuccessMaker offers interactive learning activities in reading and language arts, math, and science. Students work on an appropriate level according to their ability in each course. The program monitors a student’s progress for a certain number of exercises and places them at a level that is neither too easy nor too difficult.
Math Facts in a Flash focuses on fluency in mental math operations. Students at all skill levels practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills at their own pace on the computer. This program accurately measures student practice and mastery of math facts using timed test. This helps students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in all levels of math.
